Type “Jio Platforms share price” into Google tonight and you will get three different answers in five seconds: Rs 1,119, Rs 1,365, and a dozen thumbnails shouting a fourth number. The simple truth: on the evening of Tuesday, 27 October 2026, Jio Platforms does not yet have a live share price. It gets one tomorrow. Here is what every number you are seeing actually means — and where to find the real price when trading starts.

Why one search shows three different prices

Before a company lists, there is no market price — only three kinds of numbers that people mix up. The issue price is what shares were sold for in the IPO. The grey market premium is an unofficial guess about the listing price. The live market price only exists once shares start trading. Right now you are seeing the first two; the third arrives on Wednesday, 28 October. Neither of the first two is a price you can trade at today.

First, what is Jio Platforms, in plain words?

Jio Platforms is the digital arm of Reliance Industries — the company behind the Jio mobile network that changed how India uses the internet. Its main subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm, runs mobile and home broadband services used by 533.3 million customers as of June 2026, and the business also covers apps, cloud services, enterprise technology and artificial intelligence.

The scale explains the excitement. Jio Platforms reported revenue of Rs 1.46 lakh crore and net profit of Rs 30,049 crore in the year ending March 2026, and Meta and Google already own pieces of it. This IPO is the first time ordinary investors in India can buy its shares directly on the stock market.

The IPO, in plain numbers

  • What was sold: 27 crore brand-new shares — a fully fresh issue, so no existing shareholder sold their stake. At the top of the band it raised about Rs 30,213 crore, the largest IPO in Indian history, ahead of Hyundai Motor India’s Rs 27,870 crore issue in 2024 — valuing the company at roughly Rs 10.3 lakh crore.
  • Price: offered at Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 each; the final issue price was Rs 1,119, the top of the band.
  • Smallest application: one lot of 12 shares, costing Rs 13,428 at the final price.
  • Dates: open 21 to 23 October 2026; anchor investors had already put in about Rs 8,110 crore on 19 October.
  • Demand: subscribed 22.19 times overall — institutional buyers bid 70.55 times their portion, retail investors 2.72 times. Around 1.39 crore applications came in, a record for an Indian IPO.
  • Where the money goes: up to Rs 27,500 crore will repay or prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm; the rest is for general company purposes.

So what is the “share price” today?

Honestly: there isn’t one yet. The only firm number is the issue price, Rs 1,119. If you applied and got shares, that is what you paid. If you did not apply, you own nothing yet and can only buy once trading begins.

The other number — around Rs 1,365 — comes from the grey market premium, or GMP: an unofficial betting corner where people trade promises about IPO shares before listing, and the premium is how much extra they will pay over the issue price. On 27 October, The Economic Times reported a premium of about Rs 246 a share, roughly 22% above Rs 1,119, pointing to an indicative price near Rs 1,365. But the grey market is unregulated, the premium moves by the hour, and it guarantees nothing.

What happens on listing day, and where to check the real price

On Wednesday, 28 October 2026, Jio Platforms shares are scheduled to list on both the BSE and the NSE. The first traded price is set by the buy and sell orders waiting in the system — not by the grey market, the issue price, or any headline. It can open above Rs 1,119, below it, or right around it, and it can move fast in the first hour.

To check the real price, look up Jio Platforms on the BSE (bseindia.com) or NSE (nseindia.com) websites — the official sources — or find it in your broker’s app once listed. Portals such as Moneycontrol show the same live price. If you applied, check allotment on the BSE or NSE websites, or on the registrar KFin Technologies’ site, using your application number or PAN.

A small, real example

Picture a college student who applied for one lot with saved-up money and has been refreshing her phone all evening. She sees Rs 1,119 on one site, Rs 1,365 on another, and a video claiming Rs 1,400. None of those is a price she can sell at tonight, because the market is closed and the share has not listed. Her one useful check is the allotment status: did she get the shares? The price question can only be answered after 28 October, from the exchange quote itself.

What beginners should watch

Listing day is exciting, but it is also noisy. The opening price is not a verdict on the company — it reflects one morning’s orders, and big IPOs often swing hard in their first days. Grey market numbers are not promises; treat them as gossip with arithmetic. And a subscription of 22 times only measures demand for the IPO — it says nothing about where the price goes next.

One last thought

Tomorrow, “Jio Platforms share price” stops being a riddle and becomes a number you can check in two taps. Until then, hold on to the three facts that matter: the issue price was Rs 1,119, the shares list on 28 October on the BSE and NSE, and every other number tonight is someone’s guess. Check the exchange quote in the morning and ignore the shouting.
